Testing The World’s First 4000-Degree Retractable Blade Plasma Lightsaber

Testing The World's First 4000-Degree Retractable Blade Plasma Lightsaber

This is a video of the folks at Youtube channel The Hackensmith testing the world’s first retractable plasma lightsaber, the construction of which they featured in a build video last week (included below). The lightsaber burns at around 4,000-degrees Fahrenheit (2,200-Celsius), is powered by a mix of liquid propane and oxygen, and you can absolutely forget about me putting my hand in front of it for anything less than ten dollars.

Keep going for the testing video, followed by the build.

Oh Wow: Mr. Clean Backflips Off Swing Set Into His Pants

Oh Wow: Mr. Clean Backflips Off Swing Set Into His Pants

Who puts their pants on two legs at a time? Mr. Clean apparently. Well, with the help of a swing set and two assistants, which has to make for a rather awkward morning routine, particularly if Mr. Clean doesn’t own his own playground. These are three videos of professional stuntman Zoli Berencsi flipping into his pants from a swing set, from gymnastic rings, and off a short retaining wall. In the first two videos he’s dressed as Mr. Clean, in the third video I’m pretty he’s just himself or a cleaning product mascot I don’t recognize. And what’s up with that crazy butt scoot dance he does after a successful pant-flip? That’s wild. That’s also exactly what my dog does whenever she has a dingleberry.

Spicing Up Thanksgiving: The Puking Kitty Gravy Boat

Spicing Up Thanksgiving: The Puking Kitty Gravy Boat

This is the Puking Kitty Gravy Boat originally created by glass artist Ginger Ames all the way back in 2012, which were only available for a limited time and quickly sold out. Well now Ginger and her husband have decided to start reselling the puking kitties after being featured on television earlier this year. Available in black, white (currently sold out), and blue, the boats are on sale for $37 and if you donate $3 to a cat rescue charity through the purchase page you get $5 off. Win-win! Unfortunately for me, the rerelease of the boats has caused the value of my storage unit full of original 2012 release Puking Kitty Gravy Boats to plummet. *filling gas can, flicks lighter to make sure it works* Come on, Farmers.

Keep going for several pictures (including one moonlighting as a planter!) and two Instagram videos of the cat in action.

Guitarist Performs 71 Nirvana Riffs In 5 Minutes

Guitarist Performs 71 Nirvana Riffs In 5 Minutes

This is a video of guitarist yourauntstripe (I have an aunt Dottie!) performing 71 Nirvana riffs in five minutes. In his own words while I play Nevermind at full blast because I’ll fight anybody in this shared office space:

A small tribute to my favourite band growing up. Nirvana is the reason I have decided to pick up guitar back in middle school and since then I absolutely loved playing and singing their songs. This cover is not perfect, but it was quite difficult to play everything in one video since the tempo is very different.
Keep in mind that there are two guitar tracks playing in this cover. One is that I am playing in the video and second one that I recorded step by step before recording this in one take. Bass and drums were created in Garage Band.

Impressive. For reference, the first thing I ever learned to play on guitar was the intro to ‘Come As You Are’, and that’s as far as I made it. I do play a pretty mean triangle though when it’s time to call the cowboys home for supper. Is that a thing? That’s a thing, right? Hey *raising finger gun* no boots on in the house, the spurs ruin my upholstery.

Something’s Not Right Here: Zamboni Catches Fire While Resurfacing Ice Rink

Something's Not Right Here: Zamboni Catches Fire While Resurfacing Ice Rink

Seen here looking like it ran over a body, this is a video of a Zamboni resurfacing the ice at Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex at Monroe Community College’s campus in upstate New York when it decides it’s had enough of its cold lifestyle and catches fire. Impressively, the operator manages to drive the flaming machine off the ice and extinguish it instead of yelling “Abandon ship! Every man for himself!” and jumping off, letting the Zamboni crash through a penalty box. That would have made for a much better video though, just so we’re clear.

Keep going for the video while I speculate what the new lines on the ice mean for hockey.

Thanks to to Richard K, who agrees that Zamboni has probably always dreamed of raking the sand traps on a tropical golf course somewhere.

Valuable Info: How Giraffes Reach Ground-Level Food

Valuable Info: How Giraffes Reach Ground-Level Food

This is a very short video of a giraffe demonstrating its technique for reaching ground-level food. In this case, grass. You know I’ve eaten my fair share of grass before, and I honestly don’t see what all these animals like it so much. It doesn’t even taste good and just always makes me pukey. Still, this giraffe’s finesse is most impressive. Kinda reminds me of how I can pee standing six feet away from any urinal. “And make any in?” Haha, now I never said that.

Thanks to Christina D, who agrees life, uh, finds a way.
