That Cucumber Never Saw It Coming: A Tiny Finger-Mounted Crossbow

That Cucumber Never Saw It Coming: A Tiny Finger-Mounted Crossbow

This is a short video from Youtuber Craft Workbench demonstrating a tiny, finger-mounted crossbow capable of firing wooden darts into a cucumber. So, the next time you find a cucumber trying to pick a fight just load up your little finger crossbow with the end of a kabob stick, look that cuke dead in the eye and tell it, ‘Looks like you’re in a pickle.’ Get it? “Because pickles are made from cucumbers.” Wait– WHAT?! I just meant because you’re about to shoot it and it’s gonna hurt.

Keep going for the video, which concludes with a crossbow shot from underwater.

Popcorn Popping Filmed At 100,000 Frames Per Second

Popcorn Popping Filmed At 100,000 Frames Per Second

This is a video from high-speed cinematographer Darren Dyk of Youtube channel BeyondSlowMotion of popcorn kernels popping filmed at 100,000 frames per second. You can literally almost see the magic happening. “Popcorn isn’t magic.” Oh no? Then why don’t you explain it to us all. Yeah, that’s what I thought. “The water inside a kernel expands as it’s heated, building pressure against the hard outer shell until–” No, nope, you had your chance, nerd.

Oh, Internet: Nirvana’s ‘Come As You Are’, The Swing Version

Oh, Internet: Nirvana's 'Come As You Are', The Swing Version

This is another reimagined song video created by Youtuber There I Ruined It (previously: a polka cover of ‘Shallow’ from A Star Is Born), this time featuring an old-timey swing cover of Nirvana’s classic ‘Come As You Are’, using footage from the band’s MTV Unplugged concert. I expected to hate it, and I did for the first few seconds, but by the time I was fifteen seconds deep I found myself snapping my fingers and dancing around in circles like it’s 1940 and pants and underwear hadn’t been invented yet.

*whip sound* : Giant Monitor Lizard Tail-Whips Dog To Defend Itself

*whip sound* : Giant Monitor Lizard Tail-Whips Dog To Defend Itself

This is a short video from Thailand of two dogs barking at what appears to be a large Asian water monitor (not a Komodo dragon, but in the same Varanus genus) when the monitor tail-whips the dog on the left when the other is distracted licking its genitals to tell it to back off (a common defensive tactic in monitors), because clearly the person filming wasn’t going to. Thankfully, the dog is fine and probably learned a lesson about getting too close to giant lizards. I also hope its owner learned a lesson about maybe trying to defuse a situation instead of just letting your dogs bark uncontrollably at a wild animal while you just stand there filming, but *unzipping pants to pee on electric fence* we all know how hard it is for humans to learn lessons.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Deepfaked As Sylvester Stallone’s Character In Demolition Man

Arnold Schwarzenegger Deepfaked As Sylvester Stallone's Character In Demolition Man

This is a deepfake video reimagining if Arnold Schwarzenegger had portrayed Demolition Man’s Sergeant John Spartan instead of Sylvester Stallone. After watching the video I’m starting to wonder if I’ve even seen Demolition Man , because this did not ring any bells. Although, if we’re being completely honest, my bells are becoming harder and harder to ring and I’m starting to wonder if the government didn’t sneak inside my brain and have all their clappers removed. “You mean you drank too much.” But the government knew I would drink all that beer given the opportunity. Wake up, lamble! “You mean sheeple?” THEY DID THIS TO ME.

Man Keeps Promise To Younger Self, Moves Oak Tree He Planted As A Child To New House 20 Years Later

Man Keeps Promise To Younger Self, Moves Oak Tree He Planted As A Child To New House 20 Years Later

This is a video documenting the relocation of a 20-year old oak tree that Youtuber letsdig18 planted when he was in 4th grade from an acorn given to him as part of a school science project. He says he made a promise to himself that whenever he was able to build a house of his own, he’d have the tree moved from the woods behind his parents house to his new home. For the most part the video is just the tree spade (the giant tree relocating machine) doing its thing without any commentary, but guy briefly discusses the story once the tree is back in the ground around 16:55, which is sweet and worth a listen. I remember when I was a kid and my family moved I too made a promise to return and get one thing I wanted and that, my friends, is how my ex-neighbor’s 1966 Shelby GT 350 came to be underneath a tarp in my backyard right now.
