Because there are shoes for even the most eccentric tastes, Rock Shoes are foam clogs that look like rocks, complete with mossy accents. They’re made by Bravest Studio, who you may recall from their previously posted bear foot shoes and giant toe slippers. That is some very niche footwear. Still,
Because what is science if not magic wearing a lab coat and fake mustache so you don’t recognize it, this is a video of science essayist Steve Mould using an additional prism and convex lens to recombine the ROYGBIV separated from one prism back into a beam of white light.
This is a video from the fun/danger-loving crew DD Squad (I’m part of a small B Squad myself) using a custom built rig to launch a human at 50MPH from the rear of a truck traveling at 50MPH so that he can just stand the landing, since 50MPH – 50MPH
This is another size comparison video from Meta Ball Studio (previously), this time visualizing the sizes of various fictional buildings (all of which Alex Honnold plans to climb) from pop culture show, movie, and video game franchises. I learned a lot by watching it. Mostly, that my apartment isn’t larger
This is the helmetcam footage from motocrosser Colby Raha as he sets the world record for longest jump on a v-twin dirt bike, with a very respectable 275-footer across the length of a surf pool. He then follows it up with a 90-foot vertical launch off a quarter pipe. Gnarly!
Because who likes changing gears to make climbing hills easier anyways, this is a video of Sergii Gordieiev of Youtube channel The Q replacing a bicycle chain with a series of 3D printed gears, effectively making it a single speed. So is that an upgrade or a downgrade? I suppose
This is a video of Youtuber Matt Denton constructing an electric powered, 3D printed parts replica of the 1981 LEGO Technics Dune Buggy set 8845. It’s 10.5x larger than the original, so large Matt is able to sit in it to drive. That’s cool, but you can sit in anything
This is a short but delightful ASMR video of a Black and Rufous Sengi (aka elephant shrew) eating a flying insect at the Hertfordshire Zoo and looking too cute to compute the entire time, even if it does have bug hanging out of its mouth. Just look at that snout!
