Remember MTV? I can’t tell if I do or if the memory was just placed in my brain by AI to make me think I had a past. This is a video compiled by Youtuber Nick Canovas of Mic the Snare counting down the top 11 most expensive music videos of all time. Number 11 is Limp Bizkit’s ‘Rollin’ (Air Raid Vehicle) at a cost of $3,000,000 (mostly due to performing on top of the World Trade Center), and number 1 is Guns n’ Roses’s ‘November Rain’, mostly due to it being one of the best music videos of all time (along with A-ha’s ‘Take On Me’. The full list (with ties broken by which would cost more in 2025 due to inflation for the various costs):
11 Limp Bizkit ‘Rollin’ (Air raid Vehicle)’ $3,000,000
10 Aqua ‘Cartoon Heroes’ $3,500,0000
9 Gwen Stefani ‘Make Me Like You’ $4,000,000
8 Michael Jackson ‘You Rock My World’ $4,000,000
7 Madonna ‘Bedtime Story’ $5,000,000
6 Madonna ‘Express Yourself’ $5,000,000 (for reference, $12,887,000 in 2025)
5 Madonna ‘Die Another Day’ $6,100,000
4 Michael & Janet Jackson ‘Scream’ $7,000,000
3 Guns n’ Roses ‘Estranged’ $9,000,000 – $10,000,000
2 Michael Jackson ‘Black Or White’$ 9,000,000 – $10,000,000
1 Guns n’ Roses ‘November Rain’ $11,000,000
Damn, I don’t care if you gave me 3-million or 11-million to make a music video, I’m taking that money and growing a mustache and moving to South America. The only thing those bigwigs at the record label would find is a hand drawn flipbook of stick figure er0tica and a Post-It that reads ‘Use This.’
