This is a video of Japanese world yo-yo champion Hajime Miura competing in the 3A division of the World Yo-Yo Contest. The 3A division, which Hajime has won 8 times prior, is for dual yo-yo action. And damn does he dual yo-yo! This particular 2026 performance earned Hajime 5th place, presumably due to the misstep at 1:20 that caused him to have to get new yo-yos. Regardless, the performance was a real crowd pleaser, as evidenced by all the OOOOOHs and AAAAAAHs. And I get it, those tricks are absolutely nuts. I’m not sure you could even do some of those with AI. Did Hajime break physics? No, but I did just break my girlfriend’s favorite coffee mug swinging my own yo-yo around, so if she asks a cat knocked it off the counter. “Do you even have a cat?” No, but I didn’t say OUR cat, I just said A cat. She leaves the kitchen door open a lot to air out my natural musk.
