This is a video demonstration of the Omnideck, a large omnidirectional motorized platform users can walk/run on to create a more immersive virtual reality experience without the risk of running into walls. The technology was originally developed in Sweden for military use, but Aaru Entertainment is developing video games based around the platform, with a mission “to bring Ready Player One to life.” Now I’m not sure if you’ve read the book or watched the movie, but from what I gathered that isn’t really a good thing. Still, we’re one step closer to playing realistic Counter-Strike, then quickly abandoning it because it was too much of a workout. I like to eat and not breathe heavy while I game.
