Because there will always be a Star Wars nerd fan out there with ungodly amounts of money to spend (hire me), the Luke Skywalker lightsaber and severed hand prop used in The Empire Strikes Back recently sold at auction for $4.69-million ($3.75-million + a 25% buyer’s premium). It is the highest price ever paid for a Star Wars prop, surpassing the $3.6-million paid for Vader’s saber used in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, and the $3.875-million paid for the original Star Wars movie poster painting by Tom Jung (video of that included at bottom of post for reference). That’s cool, but I’ve been selling quart bags of “screen-used” Ewok hair on eBay for years now, but it’s really just dyed alpaca fleece. I get it from a neighbor who raises alpacas. Although I should clarify, when I say “I’ve been selling,” what I really mean is, “I’ve been trying to sell.” All it takes is one sucker and I can buy an electric scooter!
