Because invisibility is never not the name of the spy game, this is a video demonstration of the ‘Phantom Twist’ single-rotor drone developed by researchers at Northwestern University. Its wireframe body spins in the opposite direction of its rotor as it flies, rotating so fast that it almost disappears thanks to motion blur. The researchers claim it’s 10X more difficult to identify by sight than a regular drone, although I would argue it’s more like 9X. The sound though — the sound still gives it away. I really wouldn’t recommend using this drone to gather intel on any but the very hardest of hearing enemies. So if you were planning on infiltrating the Bat King’s lair, you’re going to need a plan B. Now, do you have a moth costume?
