Water (in the form of ice) and grit (in the form of pulverized eggshell) are added occasionally, and more of each material as the original is composted. The worms make short work of the leaves, but take longer to start breaking down the cardboard and paper, but once that do — LOOK OUT. Did you ever read How To Eat Fried Worms when you were growing up? I always preferred mine sun-dried style. “The dogs must get it from you.” Oh my God…I bet you’re right, honey!
