LEGO Releases A ‘Playable’ Donkey Kong Arcade Build Set

Skyrocketing straight to the top of my Christmas list (I won’t get it, then throw a tantrum and accuse everyone of not loving me — and be at least 3/4s right), LEGO has just released a Donkey Kong™ Arcade build set. The 1,371 piece set costs $200 and produces a miniature version of the first level of the classic arcade game, and is even LIGHTLY playable. Pulling the barrel lever releases a barrel from Donkey Kong at the top, and the joystick moves Jumpman left and right (although he’s stuck on the third platform with only three body lengths of movement to work with. If this was an actual arcade game I definitely wouldn’t waste a quarter and would use the old washer on a string trick instead), and the jump button makes him jump. Sure, not as fun as playing the actual arcade game, especially at the barcade after a long day and a handful of cold ones, but…call me an Uber.

A bunch more shots and a video detailing the features below.

Thanks to my dad, who still LEGOs even to this day.
