This is a video of Youtuber Strange Inventions building a clock that tells time with vials of colored water (I would have gone with an even darker color). Every minute the vials rotate and dump their contents, and the vials required to tell the next minute’s time are refilled via pump. It took Strange Inventions a total of 210 hours (that’s over five full-time work weeks) and €580 ($680) to construct. Could he have built and programmed the clock to only dump the vials that needed to change for the next minute’s time? Probably, but that would have required each vial have its own motor, and that’s a lot of motors. Plus, and far more importantly, that wouldn’t be as dramatic. And you know *flourishing cape* how I feel about the dramatic. “You can’t stand it.” I won’t even be able to sleep tonight knowing I just flourished my cape like that.
