Feel like crying? I’ve got you. This is a video of ESPN sportscaster Scott Van Pelt giving a moving tribute to his dog Otis during SportsCenter’s ‘One Big Thing’ segment. Otis passed at the end of April after yet another battle with cancer. Per Scott: “After the show tonight I’d rather drive all the way from D.C. to the Pacific Ocean instead of taking a short ride home, where I’m going to sit in the dark, waiting for my Otie boy.” He has a lot more to say as well, mostly about how the cost of love is the pain of inevitable loss, but it’s a price undeniably worth paying. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go play with my dogs forever.
