Incredibly Rare Footage Of Bigfin Squid Trolling Its 13-Foot Tentacles Along Seafloor

This is a video from a depth of 3,300 meters (10,827 feet — more than 2 miles) in the Tonga Trench (the second deepest trench behind the Mariana) between new Zealand and Fiji of a rarely seen Bigfin squid (misnomer, should have been named Longleg Squid) trolling its 13-foot tentacles along the seafloor looking for a snack. I’m right here! “You are not a snack.” Am I an appetizer? “You are junk food.” Hell yeah, I am Ding Dongs. It looks like the squid finally catches something at the end and starts reeling it in, but the video ends before we can see what it was. My guess is plastic!
