Take a step into my way-back machine and watch (and listen to) an Intel 486DX2 (with 32MB RAM and 500MB hard disk storage!) booting up. That thing was state of the art when it was released 30 years ago. Now it’s like a fossilized dinosaur turd. We sure have come a long way, haven’t we? The question is, was it the right way? And, more importantly, did we leave a trial of bread crumbs in case we need to return? “The birds ate them.” Those f**king government spy pigeons!
