This is a video of Japanese high school batter Ko Yamaguchi, who was recently dubbed by sportswriter Larry Brown “the most annoying batter of all time” for his antics at the plate. In a constant attempt to draw a pitching violation he “crouches to shrink the strike zone…moves back and forth to destabilize the zone” and switches sides of the plate to bat opposite handed after every pitch. In the video he eventually does get hit with a ball, and I don’t don’t blame the pitcher one bit — I would have beaned him with the very first throw. “How can I make this game even less fun?” I imagine Ko thinking to himself while getting out of bed in the morning.
