This is a video documenting launch day of the iMac at a CompUSA store in Alexandria, Virginia on August 15, 1998 — just over 24 years ago. The interviews with the Apple reps and customers are great. As my mom would say, it’s a real hoot. I remember when I went to Virginia Tech a couple years later they had bought a whole computer lab (the Math Emporium) with 500+ of these candy coated computers. And we were REQUIRED to go use them so many hours a semester, I assume as part of some nefarious plan by Apple to get young students addicted to their products. Ha — nice try, Steve!
