Four People Ride Down Hill Inside A 7-Foot Tire

Four People Ride Down Hill Inside A 7-Foot Tire

Because who hasn’t dreamed of dying inside a giant tire with three of their friends, this is a video from Hunter Goodrich, who made a steel frame and harnesses to fit inside a giant 7-foot tire so four of his friends could ride inside it down a hill. This is a video of that ride. Can’t say I’d do it myself, but it was rather enjoyable to watch other people do it. I suppose it’s a lot like work in that way.

Short video of just the ride first, longer video follows with some POV footage, should start around 8:25.

Moving Beerpong Robots: Challenge Accepted

Moving Beerpong Robots: Challenge Accepted

The BRUU Moving Beerpong Robot is a small, wheeled robot designed to hold six 16-oz Solo cups on top and randomly move around the table while you play beerpong, adding an increased level of difficulty to the game. Thankfully, it’s outfitted with sensors so it doesn’t fall off the table and constantly waste beer. Available on Amazon as single robots, it gets about 20 hours of game time on a single charge. Not bad, but we’ve been doing this with Roombas for a while now. And by “for a while now” I mean starting this coming weekend.

Keep going for a video of some guys playing kiddy pong on a ridiculously tiny table, basically just dropping the balls into the cups.

Man Welds 15,000 Pound Fire-Breathing Steel Drogon Statue From Game Of Thrones

Man Welds 15,000 Pound Fire-Breathing Steel Drogon Statue From Game Of Thrones

Inspired by Drogon from Game Of Thrones, this is a video of artist Kevin Stone discussing the 15,000 pound “life size” steel dragon statue he’s welding together. It also breathes fire, because what’s the point if it doesn’t? And while it might not be full grown Drogon size, he was certainly this size at some point in his growth. Kind of like how I was a smaller 10-year old once. But not 8, the aliens produced me at age 10 for whatever reason.

Energy Efficient Robot Moves Like A Seal

Energy Efficient Robot Moves Like A Seal

Because robots and AI are all the rage as we ramp up preparations for a self-imposed robot apocalypse, this is a video of a robot developed by researchers at Chicago’s DePaul University that mimics a seal’s flopping locomotion to move forward. The researchers, led by mechatronic engineer Dimuthu Kodippili Arachchige, believe the robot could be useful in search and rescue applications where a more traditional robot’s wheels or feet would be unable to enter a particular space. So that’s something. Something that looks like four sex toys joined at the base humping its way across the floor.

Guy Builds A Bunch Of Childhood Inventions (Suction Cup Boots, Laser Sword)

Guy Builds A Bunch Of Childhood Inventions (Suction Cup Boots, Laser Sword)

This is a video of Youtuber Allen Pan (previously) constructing a bunch of inventions his subscribers (and numerous other children) invented as kids, including (in order): suction cup boots for walking on the ceiling, a laser sword, plunger grapple gun, and lawnmower boots. Surprisingly, they actually all work better than I had anticipated, which was not to work at all. I guess Allen has a little more how-to know-how than I do as far as these things are concerned. I can make fireworks from scratch though.

Timelapse Of A Bunch Of Singapore Skyscrapers Being Built

Timelapse Of A Bunch Of Singapore Skyscrapers Being Built

This is a 5-minute timelapse video of various skyscrapers being constructed around Singapore from 2012 – 2020. The video is the lovechild of Keith Loutit, who “took hundreds of thousands of pictures of the city over eight years, and then aligned and combined them into 3000 time-lapse sequences to show the city’s amazing growth and transformation.” Wow, that is dedication. I’m not sure if the Singapore Bureau Of Tourism footed the bill for this project, or if Keith funded the project himself, but one thing is for certain: I don’t think I saw a single naked person in any of those windows, leading at least one 14-year old trapped inside an adult’s body to question if it was worth it.
