Move over, fireworks!
Alaska’s 4th of July 300-Foot Cliff Car Launch Spectacular

Because the area doesn’t get enough darkness to fully appreciate fireworks on the 4th of July, residents of Glacier View, Alaska launch jalopies off a 300-foot cliff instead. Admittedly, that is a show I would attend. Some of those launches are nothing short of spectacular. I particularly liked the behind-the-scenes footage of how they rigged the cars to drive off the side of the cliff in the first place. That could prove to be useful in my future.

Keep going for the video, which includes a bunch of different views of the launches, as well as a bunch of behind the scenes footage with organizers and from the top of the cliff.
