Because if there’s one thing LEGO is good at, it’s digging all the way to the bottom of my wallet, past the nonexistent cash and expired fast food coupons to the one pre-paid credit card I save for emergencies. I hope you’re happy with yourself, LEGO. And laying claim to my last $190 is this LEGO Transformers: Soundwave. The set releases August 4th, includes 1,508 pieces, can transform from humanoid form to cassette player without disassembly, and includes miniature Ravage and Laserbeak companions that can transform into mini cassette tapes. Did I mention it also features a LEGO Soundbrick that plays sound effects like, “All talk, no shock”, “Danger, Autobots detected!” and “Decepticons are awesome.” Because it does, which almost makes the $190 price tag worth it. Only almost though, which is why I’ve decided to sit this one out. That, and apparently I already blew my emergency credit card on pizzas. The Decepticons might be disappointed, but the Ninja Turtles would be proud.
