Man Constructs One-String ‘Mouth Violin’

This is a video of lover of unusual instruments Nicolas Bras (previously) constructing and playing a mouth violin based on the k’ni (aka Vietnamese mouth violin) used by the Jarai people of Vietnam. The instrument uses the player’s mouth as a resonator, “which enables the instrument to imitate certain qualities found in vocal music.” It’s got a lot of wah-wah to it, like you hear after the dentist hits you with the nitrous oxide. “You can take all my teeth, just as keep the gas coming,” my mom remembers me saying, which I do not.
