Because the circle of life is not always a circle, this is a video captured by Kruger National Park field guide Mfundo Nyambi and a group of tourists featuring two porcupine parents successfully defending their young from a hungry leopard. The leopard gets quilled several times trying to make a move on its would-be dinner, and eventually decides to retreat, but not before briefly eying up the tourists to see if they’d make easier prey. Which they absolutely would have it wasn’t for the SUV they were in, just to be clear.
