This is a video of the very Britishly named Tiff Needell taking a man for a quick spin around the Thruxton Circuit (the UK’s fastest) in a BMW M2. I learned a lot by watching it. Mostly, how much some people nervously laugh when they think they’re about to die. That guy looks UNCOMFORTABLE. Still, props to him for not peeing his pants, or at least having the foresight to wear a diaper.

This is a clip of Samudra the Asian elephant having the time of his life dunking a new floating toy he received at the Oregon Zoo. Admittedly, that does look like a pretty fun floaty toy. I mean I wouldn’t jump off the diving board and try to land on it or anything, but only because it looks like it would hurt. Plus I heard rumors the public pool lets eels out at night to prevent skinny-dippers. Remember when you were a kid and actually believed that? Well it was true.

These are a couple clips from the Madison Regatta Governor’s Cup on the Ohio River starring racer Dustin Echols performing an unintentional backflip in his jet-powered hydroplane. That must have been exciting. Especially watching the second video with the POV footage — it looks like the boat was about to take to the sky and start flying. Still, when reached for comment about the incident, Peppy Hare said that was a terrible barrel roll and Dustin would never make it in Star Fox.

This is a video of the pain loving Mark Vins of Youtube channel Brave Wilderness purposefully stinging himself with an Australian stonefish to FEEL THE BURN. Mark says he made the video to help dispel a lot of the misinformation about stonefish stings. Namely, that the sting is almost certain death. Mark says that since stonefish venom is actually thermoliable (destroyed by heat), a thermos full of hot water and a compress should prevent any real danger. Good to know. Get stung but don’t have any hot water? There’s always urine. Just don’t ask me because I already emptied myself in the hotel pool. I’m kidding. I mean I did, but I’m always good for at least a few drops.

This is the helmet cam footage from English motorcycle racer Peter Hickman as he sets the fastest lap ever recorded at the Isle of Man TT motorcycle race, with an AVERAGE speed of 136MPH. That’s nuts. Things go by so fast I can’t believe the racers can react to anything, with opportunities to die a horrible death around every corner. Me? I panic if I’m in the middle of a crosswalk when it starts its countdown.

This is a video from New York City cyclist Terry B, who often follows other speedy bikers and skaters through the city as part of his Chasing Strangers video series, following rollerblader Ari (aka The Stuttering Skater, the guy who did the follow for this video) as he blasts through Manhattan on his aqua colored wheelie boots. Is their devil-may-care style of speeding through traffic irresponsible? Yes. But would that stop me from joining their little zoom-zoom crew on my electric cooler scooter if they’d let me? Absolutely not.
