Man Almost Flies Drone Into He And His Wife’s Faces

Man Almost Flies Drone Into He And His Wife's Faces

Because there’s always a learning curve, this is a video of a married couple on a tropical vacation taken from the drone the husband is learning to fly when he almost steers the thing right into their faces. I like how his wife leans out of the way, but pops just squishes his head back, like giving himself a double chin will protect him from a face full of rotor blades. 4 out of 5 stars, I wish I was where they are.

Rare 30-Foot Long Phantom Jellyfish Captured On Video

Rare 30-Foot Long Phantom Jellyfish Captured On Video

Narrated by nature knight Sir David Attenborough (I say we just king him already), this is a clip from National Geographic’s ‘Hunt For The Giant Squid’. In the video, researchers in a submersible off the coast of Antarctica discover a rarely seen giant phantom jellyfish at a depth of around 500-meters (about a 1/3 of a mile). The giant jellyfish has rarely been seen alive, so capturing one on film was a big deal for them. Stygiomedusa gigantea can grow up to 30-feet long with a bell 3-feet across, and its long ribbon-like arms don’t have stingers, so it’s unclear how it uses them to catch prey. That’s crazy. Just as crazy? The people sitting in a tin can 500-meters deep in pitch blackness looking for a squid. That takes a special kind of person. Same goes for being an astronaut.

Simulation Of Crashing A Car At Various Speeds, Up To 260MPH

Simulation Of Crashing A Car At Various Speeds, Up To 260MPH

This is a video from driving simulator BeamNG.Drive imagining a car (modeled after a BMW/Mercedes) getting crashed into a stationary bollard at speeds of 30MPH, 50MPH, 80MPH, 120MPH, 160MPH, 200MPH, and 260MPH. I learned a lot by watching it. Mostly, that if you ever have to crash your car, try not to do it at 260MPH. And, ideally– “Not at all.” Ooooh, that’s smart. I was going to say into a neighbor’s pool, but not at all — that’s even better.

Man Rents Pet Raccoon To See If He’s Ready For Kids

Man Rents Pet Raccoon To See If He's Ready For Kids

This is a video of engineer William Osman’s quest to determine if he’s ready to have a child after his wife Chelsea told him that she was. So, what did he do? Why he rented a pet raccoon, of course, to “simulate having a child.” Young children not having nearly the coordination or climbing skills of a raccoon aside, both will still happily eat out of the garbage. So, what did William learn from the experience? That “maybe being a parent isn’t about things going right, but learning how to deal with things going wrong.” A valuable lesson. One I could have taught him for far less than the price of renting a raccoon and driving his wife crazy. Poor Chelsea. Hopefully she learned a valuable lesson about her husband from this little experiment herself.

Cats Hotbox With A Catnip Tea Filled Humidifier

Cats Hotbox With A Catnip Tea Filled Humidifier

This is a video of Crispy (great name) and four friends getting higher than five kites after hotboxing a room using a catnip tea filled humidifier. Damn, Crispy, did you never watch those anti-drug PSAs from the late 80’s and early 90’s? Just add some cheese and mushrooms and your brain is basically an omelet. Now I’m hungry. For an omelette, just to be clear, not cats. Never hungry for cats.

You Have Reached Your Destination: The Voice Actor In Over 1-Billion GPS Devices

This is a Great Big Story interview with Australian voice actor Karen Jacobsen, jokingly known as “the only woman men will take directions from.” Since 2002, Karen has been the voice of over 1-billion GPS devices and smartphone apps. Ha, I knew I recognized her from somewhere! She lives in my dashboard.
