While I did notice a few hoop touches that I have no choice but to deduct points for, overall it was quite impressive. You know, I wish I’d pursued gymnastics and acrobatics when I was growing up. Afterwards, Elon Musk congratulated the team for gathering the data they needed during the test flight, and said the explosion was caused by the fuel header tank’s pressure being low, resulting in a high touchdown velocity (aka crash). Man, if I had a dollar for every time I had a project explode and still considered it a success even though I got dead-last place in the science fair, I’d have a dollar for every year I went to high school. “So $7.50.” That’s some decent pocket change!

Because there can only be one Bob Vila, this is a short video of an alleged newly built bookcase rapidly disassembling itself into a perfect pile of particle boards. I assume the video was set up but the way it crumbles is perfect and the guy who’s filming it has a laugh that’s infectious. Like I think he for real may have given me something but I’m afriad to go to the doctor because, well…you know. “The last time you went he spent 40 minutes telling you how awesome your penis is.” He made me late for a lunch date!

This is an incredibly heartwarming video of students surprising their teacher Dr. Brown during their last Zoom class of the fall semester with signs expressing their thanks. When the class started and all the students’ cameras were off, Dr. Brown initially thought maybe he’d accidentally done something to mute their cameras or upset them. Then, SURPRISE, just the opposite. That was really, really great. *raising glass* To more Dr. Browns, and to more students like these ones.

Because nature is often an afterthought in humanity’s race towards progress, this is a video from the recently constructed (2018) Parleys Canyon Wildlife Overpass above Interstate 80 in Utah that allows animals to safely cross six lanes of traffic without getting flattened. The overpass, which is 320-feet long and 50-feet wide (the state’s largest), is covered with rocks and logs to make it more natural to animals, which are funneled to the bridge via three and a half miles of fencing. Obviously, this would probably be a good place to ambush prey if you’re a bobcat. Wait — ARE you a bobcat? “No.” That’s exactly what a bobcat would say. In the video you can see a variety of animals using the bridge, including deer, elk, moose, beavers, squirrels, other small mouse-like things, coyotes, a bear, and at least one bobcat, who you probably know because you are one. “I’m not a bobcat.” Pfft, I’ve seen the look you get when you’re thinking about eating me.

In “My car! What did you do to my car?!’ news, this is a video from a cargo ship carrying vehicles on the top deck that catch fire, eventually burning to sad, empty husks of their former automotive selves. There’s speculation the salt water may have shorted a battery causing the fire, but I suspect the answer is much simpler: insurance fraud. And I’m not just saying that because this is exactly what I would have done, but it is and I took this video.
