These are six videos of young people dancing at the San Diego area Stratus Dance Club during ‘The Metro Beat & Club Sanctuary Nights’ circa 1986 – 1987. The Stratus Dance Club was an all-ages new wave synthpop club that catered to the “new romantic and goth crowds” of the time. Watching the videos all I could think about is how these people are like 55 – 60 now. I hope they’re all still rockin’ out and dancing like zombies and robots. Just for fun I zoomed and enhanced all the footage looking for time travelers, but I didn’t spot any. That doesn’t mean there weren’t any, it just means they were probably smart enough to ditch their Apple Watches and take a trip to the vintage store before setting their time machine dials to 1987.
