This is a clip from Antiques Roadshow of a woman who brought a full base set of original Pokemon cards to be appraised. She says her mom bought her the cards in 1999 for around $35. Their estimated value now? Between $5,000 and $10,000. That’s quite the appreciation, and I regret putting so many of those cards between my bike spokes growing up. They did make my bike sound cool though, at least there’s that. Sure that isn’t worth $10,000 now, but the memory? The memory is also worthless. Dammit!
