Where there’s a will, there’s a way, and apparently the way to smooth fresh concrete is to extend a small digger’s arm with some wood beams, then lay on them and trowel the surface smooth while a friend operates the digger, and a couple other friends hang on the back to keep the machine balanced. Alternatively, just do what I do whenever I see fresh concrete and make snow angels in it.
