These are a couple videos of Instagrammer Frankie LaPenna battling remote-controlled humanoid robots in the ring. The first is a Chinese EngineAI T800 (yes, they named it after the Terminator — it’s the same model that kicked the company’s CEO in this video) that’s had its head replaced with an actual Terminator head. Some more details while I don’t battle any robots because I haven’t given up on life just yet.
The machine shown is a real EngineAl humanoid robot, which weighs roughly 165 lbs (75kg) and is made of aviation grade magnesium-aluminum alloy. The robot is being driven via real-time remote control during the fight, with preset button triggered animations.
The Terminator wins the first fight, knocking LaPenna down with a solid kick. He then battles a second, steel-built robot with a Predator head. He knocks it down, but that thing gets up QUICK. Too quick. Of course a robot getting up at all after you knock it down is too quick as far as I’m concerned. I mean I didn’t knock it down on accident. I was really hoping to see a shower of sparks and maybe its head pop off Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em style. Then, as its voice transistors are dying, it utters its last words, “Robot…apocalypse…thwarted.” I’m hailed as a hero and the crowd of bystanders tries to pick me up to carry on their shoulders before deciding a pat on the shoulder and a “Good going, guy!” are sufficient.
