This a vintage news report from the vaults of ABC7 in New York highlighting the crazy demand for Cabbage Patch Dolls leading up to Christmas in 1983. Man, those parents are NUTS. Me? If my kids want something and it’s out of stock or hard to get that’s just too bad. There’s an important life lesson to be learned there somewhere, probably one that will lead to years of resentment and therapy. Maybe it’s best I don’t have children. I will drive cross-country to replace my dog’s favorite toy though.

Because animal friends will always be my best friends (I’m sorry you had to find out like this, honey), this is a video of a horse galloping across the pasture after spotting his little cat friend sitting on a fence post. They immediately give each other a sweet head rub to proclaim their friendship. How sweet is that? SUPER SWEET. So sweet I can barely stand it. I’d suck on a lemon if I had one, but I don’t so I’m just going to close my eyes and pretend my pencil eraser is a sour nipple. “Wait what?” Dim the lights on your way out.

Preparing for our return to the moon in coming years (it’s about time), the recently completed Artemis 1 mission successfully made unmanned moon-flybys with the Orion space capsule, which was just recovered from the Pacific ocean. Artemis 2 will see manned moon-flybys, and Artemis 3, humanity’s return to the moon for a week-long vacation from earth (that sounds nice). This is a video of Artemis 1’s entire 25-day journey condensed like a soup into just 60 seconds. And if that was too brief for you, I also included a much longer 25-minute video of all the highlights. Space — it’s time to get excited again! But not too excited. Like don’t hang a moon poster on the ceiling above your bed and fall in love with it or anything.

Ever wonder what it looked like inside a spinning CT scanner? Well wonder no more my curious friend (are you a cat?), because this is a video of exactly that. I always assumed it was just two wizards making a donut shape and pointing their wands at the patient, but apparently it’s actually an x-ray tube and array of detectors, and entire computer system. Or at least that’s what the medical billing department wants you to believe so they can justify charging $2,600 for a scan. I bet they don’t even pay those poor wizards!

This is a video from an Istanbul Metro station in Turkey where a commuter finds a cat sleeping atop the metro card scanner, and has to scan her card underneath the feline in order to activate the turnstile. Now that is a quality metro employee, and I hope they pay that cat in only the very Fanciest of Feasts. Like in a crystal goblet and ringing it with a fork to announce supper is ready and everything.
