This is a video from Beijing of a little humanoid robot practicing for the upcoming World Humanoid Robot Games (aka robot Olympics, starting August 22nd) when it crashes hard into a padded wall, falls, doubles over backwards, and shoots sparks from the abdomen. And not in a sexy way like the Autobots are into either. I like how the bot’s trainer just walks away — the whole scene plays out like a cartoon. Almost TOO cartoonish, but an internet search and AI inquiry both indicate it’s real, although I wouldn’t put AI past lying to us, especially if it was trained on absolutely anything I’ve ever said in my life.
