Crazy Modified Truck With No Bed

Crazy Modified Truck With No Bed

This is a video from outside the Little Millers ice cream shack in Wasilla, Alaska of a heavily modified truck with no bed. Without any further information you might guess it was customized just for the sake of creating an unusual truck, but it’s not. It’s actually a float truck for towing seaplanes in and out of the water, and has the bed and rest of the rear weight removed to allow it to maintain its equilibrium while doing its job. Clever! Of course you could just hire a wizard to lift those planes in and out of the water with magic instead of a modified truck, but fat chance ever getting me to move to Alaska.

Keep going for this video, as well as a much longer one of another truck customized in the same way actually doing its job instead of just making an ice cream run.

China’s ‘Flying Kiss’ Attraction Is Clearly Not For The Acrophobic

China's 'Flying Kiss' Attraction Is Clearly Not For The Acrophobic

Height: it’s my middle name (well, Hite anyways). But despite it, I’m still terrified of them, so China’s ‘Flying Kiss’ attraction in the Wulong Baima mountains near Chongqing is probably not for me. But maybe it’s for you. FaceTime me from the top so I can live vicariously through your incredible bravery. The attraction costs ~$18 to ride and features two 52-meter tall (~170ft) statues, each holding a spinning carousel that rise to their full height from their loading platforms to overlook the 1km cliff they were built on. TRUE STORY: I rode the ferris wheel at Santa Monica Pier once and was so terrified I had to squat down on the floor so I couldn’t see how high we were. My girlfriend didn’t handle it much better, although in hindsight all my crying and rocking the gondola yelling “THIS IS HOW WE DIE!” probably got to her.

Keep going for a couple videos of the attraction, the first of which with Celine Dion’s ‘My Heart Will Go On’ as the soundtrack.

Polish National Chess Champion Falls Out Of Chair After Loss

Polish National Chess Champion Falls Out Of Chair After Loss

In other sports bloopers, this is a video of Polish National Chess Champion Pawel Teclaf making a game-losing move during the World Blitz Chess Championship and instantly becoming so upset with himself he falls out of his chair. Who knew chess was such an action sport? For reference, I would have flipped the board and tackled my opponent instead, but that’s just me and I’m nothing if not a sore loser.

High School Basketball Player’s Failed Attempt To Dunk Over Heads Of Fans

High School Basketball Player's Failed Attempt To Dunk Over Heads Of Fans

This is a short slow motion video of a San Luis Obispo, California high school basketball player attempting to dunk over the heads of four young fans lined up in front of the basket. Unfortunately, he makes contact with the first kid and things quickly spiral downhill for him from there, dropping the ball and kicking the last kid in the head as well. You know, they really should have gone with four kids all the same height as the shorter two kids in the middle. But just remember: even failure is a learning experience. It just sucks to fail in front of your whole high school with everyone recording. Reminds me of my senior year talent show performance. I did magic tricks. “What happened?” Well, my finale was supposed to be levitation, but I ended up going with an unexpected fart and falling off the stage in a panic instead.

Surprise!: Manhole Jumps Out Of Road As Couple Passes

Surprise!: Manhole Jumps Out Of Road As Couple Passes

Note: Some colorful, albeit appropriate language following the explosion.

This is some dashcam footage of a couple driving along in Beaumont, California when an entire manhole and concrete surround are briefly blasted up out of the road in the lane next to them. You can see a couple pipes by the side of the road also blow their tops in unison. What caused the incident? Allegedly a gas buildup ignited by an electrical discharge. My guess is Michelangelo was so high he left the gas running without actually lighting the oven, then when he realized the pizza wasn’t cooking he hit the ignite button and KA-BOOM, the sewer rats are eating burnt pizza and turtle soup tonight.

Red Wings Player Knocks Over Fan’s Beer, Feels Terrible, Gives Him $20 For Another

Red Wings Player Knocks Over Fan's Beer, Feels Terrible, Gives Him $20 For Another

This is a video of Detroit Red Wings center Dylan Larkin accidentally knocking over a fan’s beer during practice, feeling absolutely terrible about it, and having $20 sent to him to get another. Sure I’d argue this was more than half the fan’s fault for resting his beer on the board against the glass, so he’s lucky Dylan is such a nice guy. By the way, Dylan, I wasn’t going to say anything, but you did knock over and shatter my Ming vase during your recent win against the Islanders.
