Mush, jellyfish, mush!
The Argonaut, The Only Octopus With A Shell

Seen here catching a ride on a jellyfish because work smarter, not harder, this is an incredibly informative video from Bizarre Beasts detailing the evolutionary development of the argonaut, the only octopus with a shell, and the only one that lives in the open ocean, unlike the rest of its bottom-dwelling brethren. I just learned way more about argonauts, and octopuses in general, than I ever thought possible. For instance, the female of the species is actually the only one that secretes a shell (used to protect their eggs in the ocean ocean), AND CAN GROW 8X THE SIZE AND 600X HEAVIER THAN MALES. That’s crazy. Also, 100% from outer space. A spaceship could land on earth right now and I bet you my lunch (any bag in the break room fridge without my name on it) that the aliens that emerge aren’t this wild.
