This is some cleverly edited footage to make the North Korean military band (formally the Korean People’s Army State Merited Chorus and Symphony Orchestra) appear to play Rage Against The Machine’s 1992 protest banger ‘Killing In The Name’. The audio is actually pulled from a Rockin’ 1000 performance of the song to make it sound more believable, since it would be hard to imagine anybody in the military band sounding like Zack de la Rocha. I also can’t imagine there’s a lot of raging against the machine going on in North Korea. Or people not doing what their told. Me? I won’t do what anybody tells me, and especially not my doctor.

This is a video of Tom Scott taking flight strapped to a personal blimp. The experience, available at Aéroplume Écausseville in Écausseville, France, costs about €60, for which they’ll strap you to a dirigible filled with 70,000 liters of helium and let you float around an airplane hanger. That’s fun. But how much will it cost to let me pilot one outside? Asking for someone who’s convinced Icarus could have gotten much closer to the sun with a blimp.

Because there’s a first time for everything, these are two different angles of megaflipper Ernest Tramp performing the world’s first nine consecutive backflips (aka Nonuple Kaboom) on a trampoline, almost hitting the moon in the process. Damn, that’s a lot of flips. Some might argue too many, and I would be one of those people. I remember the first time I tried to do just one backflip in a bounce house. I still have a piece of tooth in my knee.

This is a video of the very talented Devon of MechanicalFiend constructing an impressive miniature of Jack Skellington’s house from The Nightmare Before Christmas. She does a fantastic job (complete with lighting effects!), and I imagine if you had the prerequisite skill level and know-how, you could almost follow along with the video and build your own. Me? I clearly don’t have the necessary skill level or know-how, which is half the reason my penis is hot-glued to my thigh right now. The other half was pure curiosity.

This is a video of a Cookie Monster inspired subwoofer system in the back of a hatchback attempting to eat a cookie. Little does he know it’s just a pillow. My dogs have made the same mistake with pillows before. “What the hell’s the matter with you two?” I’d be thinking to myself, picking yet another stuffing-filled turd out of the grass.

This is a video of an impressively long stainless steel marble maze (presumably designed to settle disputes once and for all) using two wooden marbles, a red and a green. It’s a real nail-biter, and there are numerous obstacles the balls run into on their way to the finish line to ensure the race is fair and entirely chance-based. Still, I wonder what the percentage win is for each track. Is it truly random? Nothing is truly random — take our meeting for example. To you it might have seemed random, but in reality I planned it months in advance. “But why?” Wouldn’t you like to know!
