This is a video of musician Davidlap recreating various video game console sounds using his guitars. Like watching a roommate attempt to eat all the leftover condiments after a barbecue, you may be surprised how well he does. Of course David here probably won’t puke in your car on the way home and swear he’ll pay to have it cleaned but never does, and now it still smells like onions and mustard whenever it gets hot outside.

This is the Time Machine Bass crafted by father-and-son guitar making team Steve and Richard Doner of Doner Designs. The guitar was recently sold on eBay for $8,880, with all proceeds benefitting the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. This one-of-a-kind custom creation results from a ~300 hour labor of love by Steve and Richard Doner. The bass is a fully functional instrument constructed from premium components, but is also a work of art suitable for display by anyone, musician or not.

Direct reference to the Back to the Future movie series was avoided, out of respect for intellectual property, but the bass features a selectable destination year display, a device resembling a flux capacitor and other electronic gadgetry sure to please fans of the time travel entertainment genre, 80’s pop culture and musicians alike.

Sweet. Of course the only thing that could make it even sweeter is if you played at 88BPM you actually time traveled. Think about it — one minute you’re jamming out at band practice, and the next you’re standing where band practice will take place 80-million years in the future, about to make love to a t-rex! “Wait, what?” Squirt some baby oil on this toilet seat, it isn’t slippery enough.

This is ‘All My Rockets That Didn’t Work’, a compilation video created by Youtuber and model rocketeer BPS.space of all their model rocket crashes over the years.  I think this video serves as a very powerful reminder that, even when faced with repeated failures, some people just don’t know when to quit.

This is a video captured by a homeowner in Asheville, North Carolina of a mama bear (who appears to be wearing a tracking collar) and five cubs having the time of their lives playing on the children’s playground set in the backyard.  In their own words while I remember the first time I mistook bear poop for wild blackberry pie filling:

This was taken in our backyard. It is supposedly a mom and five cubs, two of which are suspected to be adopted from a different litter.

How precious. Also, in my mind this is Goldilocks’ house and these bears are looking for revenge.  “Come along now, we’ll return tonight with a can of gasoline,” I imagine Mama Bear saying while shooing all the baby bears back into the woods.

This is a video walk-around of the miniature USS Enterprise-D bridge from Star Trek: The Next Generation as crafted by furniture and model maker Geoff Collard. In his own words while I blame my fat hands and poor coordination for never being a good model maker myself. Plus I’d always try to wear the airplane decals like temporary tattoos:

Finally completed model of the Star Trek TNG D Bridge with active view screen. My hope was to make a scale model that people would think it was the real set until I panned out. Apologies to people who did think that and were disappointed it was only a model, but your disappointment would mean that I had accomplished my goal.

 

The active view screen was a nice touch. And if I didn’t already know this was a miniature scale model before watching the video I would have sworn it was a giant scale model the detail is so impressive. Now, toss some Ninja Turtle action figures in there and let’s play space!
