This is a video of talented musician MoYun performing the Eagles’ 1977 banger ‘Hotel California’ on a traditional Chinese stringed guzheng. She does an absolutely fantastic job, and if I could lay in a hammock on a tropical beach somewhere sipping piña coladas all day listening to music like this, I would. Can any of you make that happen? I’m serious, my life needs an angel investor.

This is a video of what is allegedly (at least the announcers think it is) the greatest curling shot of all time, made by Swedish curler Niklas Edin at the 2023 Men’s Curling Championship. Niklas manages to avoid a couple of his own team’s previous shots, hitting the opponent’s stone and keeping his own nearer the center. Definitely impressive, but I’m not going to lie — I expected the greatest curling shot of all time to get me a little more excited. I mean I wanted to be excited, but I just poured coffee in my eyes and I can barely stay awake.

This is a video of the deepest-living fish ever captured on video, an unknown Pokemon species of Pseudoliparis snailfish living in the Izu-Ogasawara trench, off the coast of southern Japan. It’s the first fish documented at a depth of over 8,000 meters, with these spotted at 8,336 meters. That’s deep! But would my pen15 still touch the bottom if I threw it over the side of a boat like an anchor? You know it would.

This is a video of photographer and diver Ian Haggerty going about making an omelet just about the wrongest way possible and cracking an egg 12 meters (~39 feet) underwater to see the effect the water pressure will have on it. The results may surprise you! Especially if you expected anything remarkable to happen. *yawn* This is the internet, I at least expected a shark attack or something.

This is a video of everybody’s favorite foul-mouthed football captain turned coach Roy Kent (actor Brett Goldstein) hanging out with Elmo and Grover on Sesame Street, and playing a game of hide-and-seek. It looks like it was a good, wholesome time. And with far less cursing than I’m used to hearing come out of Roy’s mouth. If he didn’t make it as a footballer, he would have made one hell of a sailor, that’s for sure.

This is a satisfying video of a man constructing a perfect cube out of sticks of staples. That’s fun. So, if you’re wondering why I just raided the office supply closet, it wasn’t just to grab enough toilet paper to TP somebody’s house tonight, but my neighbors have had it coming. I feel like the TP will make all the Christmas lights really pop.
