Woman Gives Tour Of Hery VERY Eclectic Bedroom (Worm Wall, Nail Clipper Photo Collection)

This is a video of designer Myra Magdalen providing a tour of her bedroom, with such classic interior design elements as a computer keyboard wall, a musical keyboard wall, a worm wall, a collection of frames with photos of nail clippers, a music box nail clipper carousel, a homemade seashell bed, kiddy pool filled with “inside dirt” you can play with, and a gumball machine filled with photos of tiny Jimmy Neutron’s dad, who also graces the bottom of the play dirt pool if you dig all the way to the bottom. Wow! I can’t be the only one who’s wondering how many times her cat has sh!t in that dirt pit.

Roaring 20’s Footage Of New York Gets Upscaled & Colorized

Roaring 20's Footage Of New York Gets Upscaled & Colorized

Hot on the heels of that 1920’s footage of the Big Easy comes this footage of the roaring 20’s in New York City. Now I know what you’re all thinking — The Great Gatsby! And yes, this was the era of Art Deco, jazz, and flappers. But look at that traffic! Some things never change. Also, apparently this is an era a lot of people really want to see for themselves, because I counted no less than four time travelers in the footage.

Bears Dancing Against Trees To Remove Winter Coat

Bears Dancing Against Trees To Remove Winter Coat

Note: the website is a little wonky right now while it’s getting fixed, feel free to smack it with a hammer for me.

This is a clip from BBC Earth narrated by the one and only David Attenborough highlighting bears furiously rubbing and grinding against trees to help shed their thick winter coats. It’s like a dance. A sexy dance? Not to me personally, but I’m sure there’s a furry or two out there taking notes.

Keep going for the video, but the dancing action starts around 1:55.

1974 BBC News Report About A Giant Beer Loving Snail

1974 BBC News Report About A Giant Beer Loving Snail

In what is hands-down the most British things I’ve seen in a while, this is a 1974 clip from BBC Nationwide of Michael Barrat interviewing snail aficionado Christopher Hudson and his beer-loving giant African snail, Boozy. Honestly, I thought it was a Monty Python skit at first, and I’m still not convinced it’s not. At the end of the interview Boozy chugs some of the beer, then immediately gets so drunk he falls off the glass. Wow, way to be an enabler, Chris. That snail has a problem, and it’s only a matter of time until you wake up one morning to find Boozy bloated and motionless at the bottom of a half-drunk pint!

Glow Snakes!: Producing The World’s Longest Pieces Of Rebar

Glow Snakes!: Producing The World's Longest Pieces Of Rebar

This is a video of a steel mill producing the world’s longest pieces of rebar (the length seen above isn’t even half as long as it eventually becomes) for use in construction. Or, if you’re playing a survival zombie game like Dead Island, creating makeshift weapons. I’m playing Dead Island 2 right now in case you couldn’t tell. I can’t even begin to tell you how many zombies I’ve brained so far, but you could easily fill an ocean with them. Just not an ocean you’d ever want to go swimming in afterwards. “Because the sharks have also turned after feeding on the corpses!” Ummm…did we just write a movie?!

Pianist Turns iPhone iOS 7 Ringtone Into A Lovely Ballad

Pianist Turns iPhone iOS 7 Ringtone Into A Lovely Ballad

From the original iPhone to the iPhone 6, ‘Marimba’ was the default ringtone. Then beginning with the iPhone 7 and iOS7 it became ‘Opening’, and ‘Reflections’ with the iPhone X onward. But this isn’t about ‘Marimba’ or ‘Reflections’, this is about ‘Opening’. And I regret opening my phone and answering the call every time I ever heard it. They could have also named it ‘Regret’ or ‘No Call Is A Good Call’. This song though, arranged by musician Tony Ann for piano, takes the ring and gracefully expands on it. Very lovely. If this was my alarm ringtone, I’d totally hit snooze just so I could hear it again in a few minutes and not just because I’m lazy and don’t want to get up, but mostly.
