In what is hands-down the most British things I’ve seen in a while, this is a 1974 clip from BBC Nationwide of Michael Barrat interviewing snail aficionado Christopher Hudson and his beer-loving giant African snail, Boozy. Honestly, I thought it was a Monty Python skit at first, and I’m still not convinced it’s not. At the end of the interview Boozy chugs some of the beer, then immediately gets so drunk he falls off the glass. Wow, way to be an enabler, Chris. That snail has a problem, and it’s only a matter of time until you wake up one morning to find Boozy bloated and motionless at the bottom of a half-drunk pint!
