In news that makes me wish I was a millionaire (full disclosure: all news makes me with I was a millionaire), Trey the juvenile triceratops fossil is scheduled to go up for auction beginning March 17th. The roughly three-quarters grown specimen will be sold by digital auction house Joopiter, and measures 17′ 5″ long, 7′ 3″ tall, with a skull 6′ 7″ long. Damn, that’s a big head! Even bigger than mine. “Not by much.” Honey! It’s true though I wear a kiddy pool for a hat. The auction is estimated to fetch between $4.5M – $5.5M, although other dinosaur fossils have gone for almost 10X that recently, and I don’t expect this one to be any different. Am I going to bid a billion dollars at the last second? I suppose that depends on how drunk I get, but, just like the Magic 8-Ball predicted after I drank all the liquid and spit out the die, ‘Outlook good.’
