This is a video of two felines being exposed to canned Surströmming — lightly salted, fermented Baltic Sea herring that’s considered a Swedish delicacy. Most people consider it unbearable, and the smell alone often incites gag reflexes. Fermented fish will generally do that to people. I’ve always wants to try it, but I’m also a culinary monster and no stranger to battling my gag reflex at dinner. I’m…not exactly a Michelin chef. Or even a Good Year chef. The cats, despite their natural fishy inclinations, don’t want to eat the fish. And I don’t blame them, they’re probably used to Fancy Feast. Did you know it’s impossible for a person to eat a can of Fancy Feast and not start meowing? *snickering* I bet you $5 you can’t.
