This is a video of former Japanese professional baseball outfielder Tsuyoshi Shinjo demonstrating the XTurismo hovercraft prototype built by A.L.I. Technologies in front of thousands of people at the Sapporo Dome in Japan. A.L.I. Technologies hopes to launch the Xturismo commercially in 2025, with the hovercraft reaching speeds up to 60MPH with a 40-minute flight time (the current prototype only gets about 10 minutes of flight on a full charge). It will retail for around $650,000, which, I think we can all agree, is entirely too much to spend just to die tangled up in the power lines outside your home.

This is a video of a boat built by Hard Drive Marine with its custom MaxGate that uses two robotic feet to pull itself ashore. It can also be used in reverse to return the boat to the water. Pretty cool. Probably also pretty expensive. Still, now you won’t have to wait until all the buried treasure you were hunting is on board the boat before killing the rest of your crew, since you can now haul the chests aboard yourself. *tapping temple* I’m a thinker. “You’re a sociopath.” Dead men tell no tales, I’m just saying.

This is a video of Stanley the emu of Useless Farm performing a high energy interpretive dance like he’s on fire, with Jamiroquai’s ‘Canned Heat’ added afterwards. It’s crazy to think Stanley came up with that dance without any actual music playing. That’s the sign of a true master of interpretive dance — being able to dance TO THE SILENCE.
