Using A Race Car To Bowl A Strike At 140MPH

Using A Race Car To Bowl A Strike At 140MPH

Because everybody’s life-long dream is different, this is a video of pro stock car driver Aric Almirola and pro bowler Jason Belmonte setting the world record for fastest hand-thrown strike by bowling out of a race car doing 140MPH around Charlotte Motor Speedway. Damn those pins FLY. Also, did it really take a pro bowler to throw this strike? Because it looks like he just chucked the ball out the window. I could do that. I could probably do a lot of things if I had the motivation to get off the sofa. I don’t though, so do you mind flipping me like a pancake?

Builder Turns Star Wars Speeder Bike Chase LEGO Set Into Kinetic Sculpture

Created by LEGO and Star Wars fan JK Brickworks, this is a video of a LEGO Endor Speeder Chase build set that’s been modded into a kinetic sculpture, with the speeder bikes weaving back and forth to give the impression of a chase between the trees. That’s cool. Granted, not as cool as if speeder bikes really existed and Santa brought me one for Christmas, but a boy can dream. As a matter of fact, that’s about all I can do. And mostly just wet nightmares.

Appropriately Named Dead Leaf Butterfly Looks Like A Dead Leaf With Wings Closed

Kallima inachus (aka orange oakleaf, Indian oakleaf, or dead leaf) is a species of butterfly native to Tropical Asia that almost perfectly resembles a dead leaf when its wings are closed. With its wings open though it reveals beautiful oranges and iridescent purple and blue. Mother Nature: she’s a wild one, isn’t she? I’ve seen her drunk before — pure insanity. That’s where spiders and octopuses came from.

The World’s Largest Kapla Plank Tower Gets Knocked Down

The World's Largest Kapla Plank Tower Gets Knocked Down

Constructed over the course of four days by 18 steady-handed builders, this is a video of the world’s largest Kapla plank tower being destroyed (Kapla planks are like long dominoes made from pine). The tower measured a very respectable 82-feet tall, and took over 100,000 planks to construct. Wow! The whole thing comes down in just 45 seconds though, and my hands are sweating just thinking about trying to construct something so impressive. I can’t even build a card tower over a single story without accidentally knocking it over and stealing all the aces to cheat at poker later.

Simpsons Barney Gumble Art Reflects Horrifying Image In Kitchen

Because you don’t know until it’s hung and makes you stain your underwear in broad daylight, this is the piece of Barney Grumble framed art that Twitter user Emily Cook decided to display in her home, and the resulting reflection it makes in the kitchen. Yikes! I’m used to getting scared on my way to the kitchen for a midnight snack (I have ghosts), but for breakfast or lunch? Not cool. Still, do I like how with the reflection of the toaster it looks like Barney is emerging from it like some sort of ethereal genie. Barney isn’t going to be granting any wishes though, at least not unless your wish is “The reflection of someone who makes me feel better about my own life and choices.”

Valuable Info: How To Get Back Into A Capsized Canoe

Valuable Info: How To Get Back Into A Capsized Canoe

Because knowledge is power, this is a video of DJ from Youtube channel The Bear Essentials detailing how to get back in a capsized canoe in deep water. It does involve grabbing your thwart and yoke, which I do all the time, capsized boat or not. First you right the canoe, then you bail out any water before getting back in yourself, all while remaining calm and focused. Easy for you to say, I owe a lot of these gators money! Of course an even easier way to get back inside a capsized canoe is to never capsize your canoe in the first place. The easiest way? Don’t ever go canoeing. Swamp boats are really where it’s at anyways.
