Because what good are driving simulators if you can’t actually get motion sickness, this is a video of Youtuber Mean Gene Hacks playing physics-based driving simulator BeamNG.drive with the lateral movement of his vehicle being translated via custom code and sent to his body via Galvanic Vestibular Stimulation (GVS, “the process of sending specific electric messages to a nerve in the ear that maintains balance.”). The result is Mean Gene uncontrollably leaning with his vehicle as he tries to drive. Per Gene as he scrapes his way along the guardrail of a bridge, “It’s actually hard to drive like this.” Although, based on all the scrapes and dents on my truck after letting my roommate borrow it for the weekend, apparently it’s just hard to drive period.
