Students Build Electric Car That Does 0 – 62MPH In 0.956 Seconds, Set World Record

A team of speed demon students at the Academic Motorsports Club Zürich and Swiss universities ETH Zürich and the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts have set a new world record for fastest electric vehicle, producing a tiny one-seater that rips from 0 – 62MPH in just 0.956 seconds. The electric motors produce 326HP and the whole thing weighs just over 300 pounds (400 with driver Kate Maggetti), allowing it to reach 62MPH in just 40.3 feet. Damn that’s fast! Way faster than I like to move. I like to take things slow, and I’m not even kissing for a solid two, maybe three years into a relationship.

Thanks to my dad, who also has one of those newfangled electric cars, and that thing can go.
