The United States Of Stained Teeth: Average Wine Consumption Per State

This is an infographic created by Visual Capitalist detailing the wine consumption per state in America. The average per capita consumption of wine is 16.4 bottles, or 0.42 gallons of pure ethanol. That might sound like a lot, but keep in my people who guzzle wine like my aunt skew the data. You can view the particulars of each individual state HERE. Unsurprisingly to someone who was born there, West Virginia has the lowest per capita consumption (even beating Utah), because why drink wine when there’s perfectly good locally crafted moonshine available to help you piss yourself/start a fight in a hurry? I kid you not I’ve seen it sold by the gallon in recycled milk jugs at gas stations.
