6,500 Piece Golden LEGO Dragon Heralds The Lunar New Year

6,500 Piece Golden LEGO Dragon Heralds The Lunar New Year

Constructed by ingenious LEGO builder Donny Chen (aka SleepyCow), this 6,500 piece scale-covered golden dragon was built entirely from LEGO (albeit using some unusual pieces). And just in time too, because the Year Of The Dragon begins this Saturday (February 10th). Are you a dragon? I’m a rooster. If you are a dragon, do you mind if I piggyback on your good luck this year? I could really use it. We’re still five years away from another rooster, and who knows if the world will survive that long. The dragon features a very unique armature (seen below) to hold its shape, which is mindblowing in and of itself. How do people come up with this stuff? I can’t even build a 400 piece LEGO set following the instructions. I blame not being able to tell what’s changed from one picture to the next. You know those ‘Spot the 7 Differences’ photo puzzles? “You’re still looking for your first difference.” One of these days!

Underwater Rover Stumbles Across Recently Discovered Casper The Ghost Octopus

Underwater Rover Stumbles Across Recently Discovered Casper The Ghost Octopus

Spotted by a submersible remote operated vehicle (ROV) launched from the EV Nautilus about 500 nautical miles northwest of Oʻahu, Hawaii, this is a video of a recently discovered Casper octopus. The octopus was found “walking” along the seafloor at a depth of about 2,300m (7,575-feet, ~1.4-miles), with a body approximately 4-inches across. The perfect size to not be too terrifyingly small, or large. The octopus was so recently discovered that it hasn’t been given a formal classification or name yet, although if they don’t go with Spookyboi casperi then they have clearly failed as marine biologists.

Police Called To Retrieve 3-Year Old That Climbed In Claw Machine Game

Police Called To Retrieve 3-Year Old That Climbed In Claw Machine Game

Police were recently dispatched to a shopping mall in Capalaba, Australia to retrieve 3-year old Ethan, who had crawled into a Hello Kitty claw machine via the prize shoot. Where were his parents when this was happening? My guess, if they parent anything like I uncle, is right there cheering him on. Unfortunately, police retrieved Ethan after directing him to stand in the back of the machine while they broke the glass in the front, instead of grabbing him by the head with the claw like they should have. “The problem is he couldn’t re-exit the prize flap.” Listen, let’s not overthink this, now give me a handful of Australian quarters and let him crawl in there again.

Jumping On A Trampoline Suspended Below A Hot Air Balloon Above The Clouds

Jumping On A Trampoline Suspended Below A Hot Air Balloon Above The Clouds

This is a video of adventurer Jay Alvarrez and friends jumping around on a trampoline that’s suspended below a hot air balloon floating above the clouds. There’s also a video of him skateboarding a mini half pipe suspended beneath the balloon (Red Bull did this previously). Per one particularly insightful commenter on Youtube: “You are so blessed that you can go to heaven alive now 🙏✨🙌💫” Right? That’s exactly what I was thinking! Heaven is just a trampoline above the clouds. Why should I spend my whole life being good when I can experience it right now by stealing a trampoline and hot air balloon?

Dancer’s Top 15 High Fashion Impressions Of A Hydraulic Press Crushing Things

Dancer's Top 15 High Fashion Impressions Of A Hydraulic Press Crushing Things

While we may have previously seen an uncurated compilation of dancer smacmccreanor’s impressions of a hydraulic press crushing various objects, this is her top 15 hydraulic press fashion moments. And let me tell you, they are some REAL GOODIES in there. Like, imagine the best goody bag you’ve ever gotten, but instead of being filled with cheap plastic toys from the dollar store it was filled with brilliance. This is what that is. I mean unless you’ve gotten one of those fancy award show goody bags, then, okay, that was probably better. Let me get that skin cream.

Lifecycle Of A Giant Owl Butterfly Captured On Human Hand

Lifecycle Of A Giant Owl Butterfly Captured On Human Hand

This is a VERY rough timelapse of the lifecycle of a giant owl butterfly as captured in a human hand. The video begins with a tiny egg, proceeds to several stages of caterpillar growth before a chrysalis, and, finally, a butterfly. Man, I can’t wait for my own metamorphosis. It just sucks because no matter how tightly I bundle myself up at night or how long I sleep, I still wake up just a caterpillar. A very hungry caterpillar. Just not the sort they write best-selling children’s books about either, which extra sucks because I could really use those royalties.
