This is a behind-the-scenes look at how Japanese school lunches are made. The meals, which are heavy on the vegetables, are changed every day, and several new menu items are added monthly so the kids don’t get bored of eating the same food. For reference, when I was in school we had the same repeating menu every week, with pizza on Fridays. My God that pizza was good though. TRUE STORY: I’ve spent hours on the phone and internet trying to track down the supplier of the pizza from the daycare and elementary school I attended back in Alabama. I want to have it again SO BAD. The only thing is, even if I was able to find it, I know deep down in my heart it wouldn’t be the same, because it would be missing the most important ingredient of all — the innocence of youth. Every day I regret not leaving with Peter Pan.
