This is a video from WIRED of New York City high school english teacher Andrew Marzoni grading a series of assignments written by the artificial intelligence writing tool ChatGPT. Unsurprisingly if you’ve ever used ChatGPT, it does a decent job (especially considering it would take a student all of five seconds to complete any of these assignments using it). I feel like with Wikipedia and ChatGPT combined my high school grades would have been a lot better. Of course the performance of ChatGPT is partially dependent on how good the prompts are that you feed it. It’s like your body — feed it good stuff, and it produces strong and healthy results. Feed it garbage, and, well, just look at me.
