This is a video of a bunch of regular people reacting to standing atop a 10-meter diving platform and deciding whether or not to jump. It was interesting to watch. Now as someone who grew up a swimmer and lived around pools I’ve jumped off 10-meter platforms a handful of times in my life, and it was terrifying every single time. All you can do is pencil and hope your body is still straight when you hit the water, at which point you’re suddenly 10 feet underwater and out of breath because you didn’t realize you were holding it the whole time you were on the platform. Still, I can say I did it. Now? Now I don’t even feel comfortable taking the stairs into a lazy river with my inner tube.
