School In China Smashes Phones In Front Of Kids To Warn Against Use On Campus

Because when in doubt, smack it with a hammer (that’s one of my mottos), this is a video of authorities at a school in China breaking smartphones to warn students not to use the devices on campus. Apparently students have to turn in their phones when they reach school grounds, and any phones found on students will be smashed with a hammer and drowned in a water bucket. Allegedly, both the students and their parents consented to these rules, and the phones smashed in the demonstration were defective. Of course it looks like the smashing is being done behind a small wall and students can’t even see them anyways, so I’m not sure why they needed to use real phones at all. Dude could have just pretended to play Wack-A-Mole for a few seconds, and the students would have gotten the picture. That picture being one on the cover of a brochure for a different school, just to be clear.
