This is a short video from Youtuber Rescue & Restore, demonstrating the functionality of a 19th century candle snuffer, a device that automatically extinguishes a candle after it’s burned down to a certain point. Pretty clever. And here I thought the only way to extinguish candles was to wait for the fire department to show up after they’ve started a proper house fire.
